Joseph Chester Cooper “J.C.”

Joseph Chester Cooper “J.C.”, of Runaway Bay, TX passed away May 2, 2023.

Visitation will be from 3-5 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

J.C. was born December 30, 1935 in Saint Jo, TX to C.L. Cooper and Leola McKee. He proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.  J.C. married Bonnie Jean King on June 2, 1956 in Amarillo, TX. After his time in the service, J.C. built homes with his father in law, G.R. King for a short time until taking a job at Railway Express Agency on the docks then to driving a truck. He drove all over the country for many different companies until his retirement from Frito Lay where he achieved the “Million Mile Safe Driving Award.”

J.C. was and still is loved. He will be dearly missed by his immediate and extended Cooper family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Leola Cooper; wife, Bonnie Cooper; and brothers, Bill Cooper, Jimmy D. Cooper, Bobby Cooper, and A.J. Baker.

J.C. is survived by his son, Tim Cooper and wife Tamara; brother, Ronnie Cooper and wife Beverly; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
