Joseph Bramhall Hoot, 22, of Canyon, TX died Monday, October 31, 2022.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Rick Black officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Joseph was born December 25, 1999, in New Brunswick, NJ to Andrew C. and Brenda C. (Bramhall) Hoot. The family relocated to Canyon, Tx during Joe’s early childhood, where he was raised and which he considered home.
He was baptized July 11, 2010, and subsequently confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Amarillo May 12, 2013.
Following graduation from Ascension Academy, Class of 2018, as a member of the National Honor Society Joe began attending West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX where he was a senior majoring in biology and planning to subsequently pursue a graduate degree in entomology. He also was a student employee of Jack B. Kelley Student Center and had served as a member of the WTAMU summer staff.
While quiet and shy as a child, he developed into a socially engaged young man with a kind and gentle personality. Joe loved summer vacations at the beach, visiting relatives, spending time with friends and had developed an avid penchant for gaming as a hobby.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ronald Bramhall, Carole Bramhall, and Frank Hoot.
Survivors include his parents, Andrew and Brenda Hoot, of Canyon, TX; his siblings, Alexandra, Thomas, and Robert, all of Canyon, TX; grandmother Marian Cordes Hoot of PA, aunts and uncles, Frank and Sharon Hoot, of MD, Scott and Stephanie Bramhall, of CA, Glenn and Faith Bramhall, of SC, Rhonda Bramhall, of PA, Todd Bramhall, of UT, Kevin and Kim Johnson, of PA, and Dana Bramhall, of FL; and cousins, Paul, Grace, Zac, Ian, Evan, Ben, Sara and husband Tyler.
