David was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico on November 9, 1981. His family moved to Amarillo, TX in 1989. He graduated from Palo Duro High School where he was a wrestler. He attended Amarillo College Trade School and worked as a Journeyman Electrician for over 15 years.
David loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed family barbeques. His favorite food to cook for his friends and family was grilled chicken tossed with Louisiana sauce and grilled sausage. He especially loved his grandmother’s cooking and was often found telling others that their food was good, but his grandmother would make it better. He loved when his mom would have everyone over for flautas and sopa.
David was extremely faithful to his Dallas Cowboys. Although he enjoyed attending games at their stadium yearly, he would ultimately end up throwing his jersey away when they lost and let him down towards the end of every season. He liked playing Texas Hold’Em and traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada to gamble. You could never tell when he was bluffing or not because David was known for always wearing his Oakley sunglasses, even on a rainy day. He would say that his sunglasses kept people from reading his eyes so they wouldn’t be able to tell if he was telling lies.
David enjoyed playing video games, sitting in his garage, playing dominoes, watching wrestling, playing basketball, and watching UFC fights with the family. He loved his dogs, Nick, Riley, Luca, and Joe. He was always up for having fun wherever he was invited.
He is survived by his parents, Norberto and Blanca Mendoza; siblings, Miriam and husband Anthony Hutchison, Stephanie and husband Luis Portillo, and Michael and wife Heather Mendoza; children, Anthony Olmos, and Arianna Olmos; nephews, Jaycob Banda, Joshua Banda, Eian Hutchison, Logan Mendoza, Jonathan Olmos, and Luis Portillo; nieces, Avah Hutchison, Kyliegh Mendoza, Kimberly Portillo, and Kamila Portillo; grandmother, Martha Hinojosa; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
