Johnnie Lynn Swearengen – March 28, 2018

Johnnie Lynn Swearengen, 73, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Ivins and Rev. Perry Hunsaker, officiating.  Burial will be private.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Johnnie was born October 19, 1944, in Seminole, Texas to Barney and Willie Elam.  She has lived in Amarillo for over thirty-five years.

Johnnie was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and UMW, volunteered for The Canyons, and served Meals on Wheels for twenty-five years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Dayton Elam.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon L. Swearengen; a son, Chad L. Swearengen, of Amarillo; a daughter, Emily L. Flores and husband Robert, of Booker; a sister, Debbie Baggot; grandchildren, Sarah Smithson and husband Justin, Brandon Ballin, Connor Swearengen, Maggie Flores, and Ethan Flores.

A family and friends gathering will be from 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018, at The Continental, 1300 S. Jackson.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4317 I-40 West Amarillo, TX 79106.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the excellent care and love given to Johnnie by Compassion Home Health and BSA Hospice Care of the Southwest.
