John “Weldon” Harrison, 56, of Amarillo, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. Murray Gossett, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Harrison was born Oct. 3, 1956, in Canadian, Texas, son of Darrel and Johnnie Harrison. He graduated from Caprock High School. Mr. Harrison worked for the city of Amarillo for 24 years as a heavy equipment operator and also had worked as a glazier for Royal Glass for 13 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrel Harrison.
Survivors include his wife Janis Harrison, of the home; a son, Chad Harrison and wife Katie of Amarillo; a daughter, Barbie Hubner and husband Anthony of Harrison, Arkansas; his mom, Johnnie Harrison of Amarillo; two brothers, Dr. Gregory Harrison and wife Barbara of Amarillo and Tommy Harrison of Navasota; and four grandchildren, Jaric and Raleah Hubner and Koraley and Kinleigh Harrison.
The family suggests memorials be to Presbyterian Children’s Home, 3400 Bowie Street Amarillo, TX 79109; or to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, New York 10006.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at the funeral home.
