John Robert Lewis, 42, of Amarillo, TX peacefully passed away, Friday, February 7, 2025, after suffering a terminal brain tumor.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with Billy Krause officiating.
John was born July 2, 1982, in Amarillo, TX where he graduated in 2001 from Tascosa High School. John was a well-read and opinionated person, engaging in spirited debates with friends and family.
John was a very determined young man. Anything he set out to do, he achieved. He was very passionate about CrossFit and advanced to a level 2 CrossFit instructor and private trainer. John’s life’s work took him from Amarillo, TX to Colorado, Kuwait, Dubai, the UK, and Hawaii. During his travels, he often said he was “living the dream.”
John’s son, Liam, was the apple of his eye, and John’s love for him knew no bounds. It was a love he had longed for throughout his life, right up until the very end. In the end, we must all remember that it is love that truly prevails.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Donna Lewis, and Ernest and Juanita (Baker) Smith, and Jerry Foreman.
Survivors include his son, Liam Lewis, of Amarillo, TX; mother, Jaynet Davis and husband Tommy, of Amarillo, TX; father, Randy Lewis, of Fort Collins, CO; brother, Michael DiBiase, of Amarillo, TX; half-sister, Amanda Cearns and husband Fred; uncle, Rick Lewis and wife Suzie, of Spokane, WA; aunt, Danna Krause and husband Billy, of Amarillo, TX; cousins, Katheryn Massey and husband Shelby, Will Krause; nieces and nephews, Lake Wartes, Addison Flaherty, Joanna Myers, Maudie Massey and Mobley Massey; and numerous other cousins.
