John Hetrick – September 20, 2017

John Hetrick, age 95, has gone to be face-to-face with the Lord.  Right now he is enjoying seeing his family and friends that preceded him to Heaven.
He served our country as a sergeant under General Patton during WW II, marching across Europe.  He became a Christian late in life, but served lately as a strong witness and testimony for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, a marriage of 67 years, and by his son, Jimmy Hetrick.
He is survived by his son, John Hetrick, Jr. and wife Jolene, of Colleyville, Texas.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jenene Schaffer and husband, Jeff, of Arlington, Texas, Jason Hetrick and wife, Mary Ann, of Borger, Texas, Andrea Acosta, of Amarillo, Troy Hetrick, of Amarillo, Jimmy Ray Hetrick, of Amarillo, Marisa Walker Hetrick, of Amarillo; and his daughter-in-law, June Hetrick, of Amarillo; two nephews, Alan and Dan Hetrick.  He had 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
His grandson, Jason is a police officer in Borger, Texas and 2 of his great-grandchildren, Andrew and Colton are Marine and Army Specialists, proudly serving in the military service for our country.
He will be greatly missed by all.  He was also an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, in Llano Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
