John Duke Jackson, 60, of Amarillo, TX, passed away August 30, 2022.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery Chapel in Pampa, TX, with Elder Don Watson, Canyon Primitive Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
John was born on April 18, 1962, in Lubbock, TX, to Ava Lee Duke and Eual Dean Jackson. A 1980 graduate of Morton High School, John attended South Plains College and West Texas State University. He worked for Chaparral Electric and Lexford Properties.
He married Lana Carol Fulton on June 8, 1990, in Odessa, TX, in the Odessa Primitive Baptist Church, and they made their home in Amarillo.
John never met a stranger, and successfully merged his passion for people and his career training when he opened his own business, Home Maintenance & Repair, in 1992.
He loved his family, westerns, garage sales, and cruising 6th street. He eagerly anticipated Labor Day and the opening of Dove season each year. He also enjoyed spending time with his furbabies and grandpuppies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tommy Dean Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Lana; a daughter, Rachel Christensen and husband Jeff; sons, John William Jackson and wife Katelynn, Jeff Jackson, and Lyndle Jackson and family; two sisters, Treva Brownlow and husband Jerry, and Nancy Wright and husband Stephen; cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
