Joaquin Murillo II, 67, of Dumas, TX died on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Msgr. Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial will follow at Llano East Cemetery in Amarillo, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Joaquin was born on July 1, 1955, in Durango, Mexico to Joaquin Murillo and Margarita Jimenez Murillo. He loved to box, weld, play baseball and pool. He was an excellent welder. He had a strict work ethic and loved his job.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Teresa Murillo Moreno; two daughters, Lilliana Murillo and Lilliana Murillo Serda; and a nephew, Adolfo Garbalena
He is survived by three sons, Joaquin Murillo III and wife Teresa of Amarillo, Eric Murillo and wife Veronica of Abilene, and Moses Murillo of Dumas; four daughters, Caralina Medrano of Amarillo, Christianna Medrano of Dumas, Constance Medrano of Dumas, and Guadalupe Murillo of Juarez, Mexico; two sisters, Guadalupe Garbalena of Dumas, Elsa Murillo Meraz and husband Jesus of Durango, Mexico; three brothers, Arturo Murillo and wife Carmela, Ramon Murillo and wife Carmen, and Gerardo Murillo, all of Durango, Mexico; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his two dogs, Delgado and Candy.
