Jimmy “Jim” Foster “Poppy” Heatherly

Jimmy (Jim) Foster (Poppy) Heatherly, of Wildorado, died Friday, July 6, 2018 in Amarillo, Texas.

Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 9, 2018 at Palo Duro Cemetery in Wildorado, Texas. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jim was born on June 23, 1941 to John and Mary Eustace Heatherly in Danville, Kentucky. He graduated High School in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.  He attended Penn State University.  Jim joined the army in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1967.  He was the VP for the Cloth World warehouse and worked in Amarillo for many years.  Jim was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Amarillo.

Jim married, Beth Taylor in 1985 and they moved to Wildorado, Texas in 1995. This union combined two wonderful families.  Children, Karen (Thomas) Huyck of Simpsonville, S.C.; Lisa (Jeremy) Strickland of Amarillo, TX; David (Quincy) Taylor of Vega, TX; and Brian (Laura) Taylor of Dalhart, TX; Grandchildren, Kaylee, Hayden, and Heather Huyck of Simpsonville, S.C.; Karson Cudd; Annie, Kinsler and Banner Strickland  of Amarillo, TX; Cliff (Chelbye) Taylor, Clay (Stephanie) Taylor of Vega, TX; Seth (Emily) Taylor of Dalhart, TX; Shelby Taylor of Richardson, TX; great-grandchildren, Landree and Preslee Taylor of Vega; and Jackson Taylor of Dalhart.
