It is with great sadness that the family of Jimmy Don Green announces his passing, age 69 of Amarillo Texas on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, January 16th at 10:00 am at Washington Avenue Christian Church on 3800 S. Washington St., Amarillo. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Jimmy was born on January 13, 1955, to Jackie LaFone Green in Pampa, Texas.
He started his trucking career at the age of 18 driving construction trucks, he then started over the road, after 40 years he retired in 2019.
Jimmy met the love of his life, Tina, in 1986 and shared 36 years of marriage.
He was an avid outdoorsman and history buff. He was part of the Plum Creek brigade and American Mountain Man Association and also participated in Living history.
He is preceded in death by his mother Jackie Green Barker, uncle Billy Joe Green, aunt Martha Green and nephew Rustin Horton.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife Tina of the home. Two sons and two daughters: Jamie Green and wife Debbie of Sharon, Oklahoma, Randy Coughren of Tomball, Texas, Holly Beghtel and husband Ryan and Alex Escobar and husband Richard of Amarillo, Texas. Eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. As well as four siblings. Rusty and Jeanne Horton of Pampa, Texas, Tony Horton of Kerrville, Texas, Kelle Kinser of Pampa, Texas, Tina Godin of Amarillo, Texas, Kristy Parker and husband Jeremy, Brandi Grimland and husband Erik. Cousin Cheryl and other numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
