Jimmy Ray Coventry, age 73, passed away at home on April 19, 2025 surrounded by his wife and two daughters. 

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 26, 2025 at St Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1601 S. Georgia. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Jim was born in Nocona, Texas on March 5, 1952 to Joanne Underwood Coventry and Neil Ray Coventry. Jim grew up in Nocona, Texas and Perryton, Texas graduating from Perryton High School. He attended West Texas State University where he met and married Mary Jane Cooper. He graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and earned a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Jim's career included working at The Department of Human Services as Program Director and a private practice in psychotherapy. Jim was a member of St Andrew's Episcopal Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and therapist. He enjoyed knowing and helping many people throughout his career. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Neil and Joanne Coventry, his sister Marcie Jan Coventry, and his in-laws Christene and Stewart Cooper.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jane, two daughters Lora Taylor (Drake); Emily Hughes (Aaron). He was Poppy to his grandchildren Ava, Lila, Terra, and Brooks Taylor, Sawyer and Benjamin Hughes. Survivors also include his sister Julie Kile, brother Neil Coventry and wife Melinda. He is also survived by nieces Kristi Gray (Brandon), Jenny Heeb (Matt), Rachel Salemi (Charlie), Hannah Norman (Stephan), Alicia McHenry(Raphael) Katie Boatler(Tyson) and nephews Mike Kile (Laura), David Hedger, and Casey Cooper as well as 10 great nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Our family would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Dr Alan Keister, Dr Jason Jones, Dr Praveen Tumula and Dr Brian Berryman and their staff for providing compassionate medical care during Jim's illness.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St Andrew's Episcopal Church 1601 S. Georgia, 79102.
