Jerry Lee Knowles

Jerry Lee Knowles, 81, of Amarillo, died Friday, September 7, 2018.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jerry was born February 9, 1937 in Perryton, Texas to Jerry C. and Lola May Knowles.  He graduated from Boys Ranch High School.   He served in the U.S. Air Force and had worked as a cowboy most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Christina Knowles; and a brother, Gary Knowles.

He is survived by three daughters, Gail Higgins of Big Spring, Tx., Denise Robinson and husband Brian of Baxter Springs, Ks., Jerri Ann Sewell and husband John of Amarillo; a son Richard Lawrence Knowles of Hammond, Ok.; a brother, Larry Carl Knowles of Maple Valley, Washington; a sister, Sabra Salinas of Renton, Washington; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

    Such a great man who raised such a wonderful daughter!! He will be missed. It is hard loving your dad so much and never seeing them again! I know a little about that and I will be here for you Jerri anytime you need me!

    If it wasn’t for this man, Denise and I would never have met. He always was there for mom and called her his sister. We loved him and Tina like they were always family. Love you to the moon and back Niecie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always..

    I am sorry for your loss, Jerry was a nice man. I got to visit with him and helped out with small request when I would visit my dad at the VA. I will miss seeing him,
    may he rest in peace.
