Jerome “Jerry” Smith

Jerome “Jerry” F. Smith, 76, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on November 25, 2023.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Accelerate Church.

Jerry was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 27, 1947, to Patsy June and Fred William Raasch. He graduated from Cooper High School. Jerry served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sgt. EF from 1965-1969. He was a Vietnam Veteran who willfully served two terms in Vietnam.

Jerry married Dianna on February 11, 1980, in Amarillo, Texas. He worked in Surface Well Testing for 30 years. His love was woodworking, everything that he made he gave away.

Jerry was a member at Accelerate Church. He loved going to church and enjoyed spending time with his church family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patsy Smith; his brother, Bill Smith; his step-father, William Smith; and his mother, Patsy June Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna Smith, of Amarillo, Texas; daughters, Kelly Hess and husband Kelly, of Amarillo, Texas, and Christy Powell and husband Cody, of Hereford, Texas; four grandchildren; sisters, Kat Knotts, of Amarillo, Texas, Cheryl Dewald (Danny McDaniel), of Amarillo, Texas, and Sarah Hendrickson; brother, Bruce Smith and wife Barbara, of San Antonio, Texas; and sister-in-law, Darla Smith, of Bushland, Texas.
