It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jaquita Kay Crawford, on Sunday, April 28, 2024. She was 60 years old.
Jaquita was born in Brownfield, Texas on July 14, 1963 to Jarvis and Juanita Cato. She graduated from Dumas High School in 1981. She attended Exposito School of Hair Design and earned her cosmetology license. She attended Amarillo College and earned her associates degree. She dedicated 23 years to her career with Southwestern Public Service/Xcel Energy as an administrative assistant.
Jaquita married Todd Crawford on July 29, 1989 in Amarillo. Todd and Jaquita made their home in Panhandle, Texas and raised one son.
Jaquita is survived by her husband, Todd Crawford; son Cody Crawford and his wife Alyssa all of Panhandle. She is also survived by her mother, Juanita Cato, of Amarillo; and sister, Jnita Collins (Donald), of Amarillo; and her brother, James Cato (Rosie) of Brenham, Texas. Other survivors include her Father in-law, Paul Crawford; and Todd’s siblings: Doug Crawford (Debbie) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Greg Crawford and Mike Crawford of Amarillo; and Stacey Levitt of Grapevine, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family members also loved her.
Her father, Jarvis Cato; Mother in-law, Cleola Crawford; and brother in-laws, Rick Crawford and Russell Crawford, precede her in death.
Jaquita was known for her passion and she fiercely loved her family and enjoyed time spent with them. She really enjoyed attending car shows with Todd, Cody, Alyssa and many friends. She loved holidays, birthday parties and family vacations. Time spent with her beloved dogs was special to her.
Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, April 30, 2024, from 5:30-7:00 pm. A memorial service to celebrate Jaquita’s life with be held in the Boxwell Brother’s Ivy Chapel on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 10:30 am. A private family burial will be held.
