Janice Marvene (Francis) Ohmart, 77, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on March 12, 2024.
Interment with service will be held at the Arlington Memorial Gardens, 3400 North Midwest Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK, Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, TX.
Janice was the youngest of ten siblings born June 27, 1946, to Brook and Leona Francis of Erick. Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by parents and sisters Tommye Bowser, Marzee Marx, Fearn Hinchey, and brothers Nophaie, George, Jack, Dale, and Dayton Francis. She was also preceded by husbands Jay Wood and Frank Ohmart.
Janice is survived by brother Charles of Williamsburg, VA, and by a number of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BS degree in business. In her professional career, she became an employee in the department of finance of the Oklahoma City Kerr-McGee Oil Company as a CPA.
Janice was a strong believer. She lived the exemplary life that God commands all Christians to live—the two greatest commandments recorded in the Bible. She extensively fulfilled both commandments. She was a lifelong caregiver to family members of multiple generations as well as bed-ridden siblings of her first husband.
She was strong, thoughtful, generous, and an inspiration to many. Her life brought joy to a wide circle of sibling families, friends, and others.
