James Stanley Husky, 73, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on February 24, 2024.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 1, 2024, at Hillside Christian Church in the Chapel, 6100 S. Soncy, with Dr. G. A. Roach and Bob Schroeder officiating. Private burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
James was born in Amarillo, Texas on July 2, 1950, to Dorothy Jean (Brand) and Arvin Husky. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1969.
James married Denise Pettit in Amarillo, Texas on October 1, 2010.
James served in the Army Reserves out of high school. He worked most of his career in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He later moved back to Amarillo, Texas where he retired after 27 years from Zip Print on December 31, 2023. James loved his job, fishing, golfing, and riding motorcycles.
James was a Christian and attended Hillside Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Pettit-Husky, of Amarillo, Texas; daughter, Kimberly Husky Leigh and husband Travis, of Early, Texas; grandchildren, Grant Leigh, Carson Leigh and fiancée Allyson Fischer, and Claire Leigh; great-grandson, Bennett Leigh; mother, Dorothy Parson; sister, Sonia Phillips; sister-in-law, Reneé Cason and fiancé Ed Perez; niece, Dana Fleetwood and husband Rich; nephew, Brent McLemore; nephew, Tim McLemore and wife Erin; nephew, Reid Turner, many other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Arvin Husky.
