James “Rodney” Daniel

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dad James Rodney

Daniel on April 12, 2023 at the age of 62.

Services will be at 4:30 P.M., Friday, April 21, 2023, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas, with Jim Myers officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Rodney was born on September 7, 1960 in Lubbock, TX. He was born to Jerry Bob Daniel and Stella Lou. After graduating from Lubbock High School in 1978, he then met Donna Daniel and married in 1980. A few years later, he moved to Sherman, TX to start a new life where he met Yevonda Clark Horn and married her on September 8, 1990 in Luella, TX. Rodney worked for Reinert Paper and Chemicals of Denison, TX for 10 years, then City of Denison for a few years and last L&F Gravel of Sherman, TX until his passing.

Rodney enjoyed fishing, camping, working on cars, listening to music, going to the lake, and playing pool. He loved all his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Jerry Bob Daniel; mother Stella Lou Bracket; step-father James Bracket; and brother Bobby Ray Daniel.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 32 years Yevonda Daniel; his brother Randy Daniel and wife Tonya of Lubbock, TX; sister Shirley Daniel of Denison, TX; daughter Jennifer Daniel and husband Aubery of Amarillo, TX; daughter Jessica Daniel and husband Juan of Milwaukee, WI; son James Robert Daniel and wife Kalea of Mead, OK; Matthew Daniel of Amarillo, TX; son James Ray Horn and wife Jenny of Sherman, TX; son David Horn and wife Lisa of Denison, TX; daughter Nicole Houston and husband Brandon of OK; many nieces and nephews; 27 Grandkids; and 5 great-grandkids.
