James “Jim” Ross Robertson, 89, of Amarillo, TX passed away June 4, 2024.
Memorial service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Washington Avenue Christian Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Jim was born January 11, 1935 in Red Springs, TX to Milburn and Oleta Robertson. He grew up in East Texas and came to Amarillo in 1956. Jim married Cordelia Rose Heard and together they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage in August. He worked for Nabisco, owned Heard’s Super Service, and retired from the City of Amarillo in the Street Department. He was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church and Lions Club. Jim greatly enjoyed the fellowship of his church and the Excellent Fellowship Class. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, stained glass and was devoted wholly to his family and loyal beyond measure.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Oleta Robertson; sister, Carol Heinfeldt; grandchildren, James and Olivia Stone; brothers-in-law, Marvin Baker and Maurice Westbrook; and sister-in-law, Judy Robertson.
Jim is survived by his wife Cordelia Robertson; children, Sherida Stone and husband Steve, Kecia Robertson, and Michele Robertson and spouse Lala; grandchildren, Channing Stone, Kairos Robertson, and Xavier Robertson; siblings, Frances Baker, Dorothy Westbrook, Sonny Robertson, Wayne Robertson and wife Haroldlena, and Becky Whitehead and husband Scott; brother-in-law, Dave Heinfeldt; special friend, Vanessa Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
