Jacquelyn “Jacque” Perdue Thompson

Jacquelyn “Jacque” Perdue Thompson, 74, of Amarillo, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, January 12, 2024.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2024, at River Fellowship Church, 5211 Bell St., Amarillo, TX.

Jacque was born September 6, 1949, in Amarillo, TX, and was the first of five children born to Joab “Joe” and Barbara Perdue. Jacque graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1968 where she was active in orchestra and band. After high school, Jacque received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Northern Colorado and her master’s degree in health education from West Texas State University. She worked as a registered nurse and in hospital administration in Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma. She married Jim Thompson on December 5, 1989, in Amarillo, TX.

Jacque spent countless hours in Jim’s wood shop. They worked together creating beautiful pieces of art. She also made beautiful quilts for her family, friends, and to donate to charitable causes. She loved spending time in the mountains camping and fishing as well as cruising. Every Tuesday and Friday you could find Jacque in a heated card game with her dad and June. She loved playing games with her family and friends. Jacque loved being Nanna to her grandchildren. When she was on babysitting duty, she always came equipped with a recipe or craft project in hand.

Jacque was preceded in death by mother, Barbara Perdue; brother, James Perdue; brother, Jay Perdue; and son, Jeffrey Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Thompson; father, Joe Perdue and wife June; sister, Jayna Anglen and husband Russel; sister, Jennifer Perdue; sister-in-law, Vicki Perdue; son, Shane Brown and wife Davina; son, Jason Brown and wife Sherae; daughter, Adrianna Meyer; grandchildren, Sierra Scott, Hannah Ferrin and husband Jon, Stella Brown, Julia Brown and Jackson Yust; and great-grandchildren, William Scott and Ellie Ferrin.
