Jack Dudley "Rusty" Owens

Jack Dudley “Rusty” Owens, 77, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on November 15, 2024. 

Memorial celebration will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 23, 2024, at First Baptist Church in the Chapel with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. 

Rusty was born in Taylor, Texas on April 18, 1947, to Norma Elsie (Nix) and Louis Glenn Owens. He spent much of his childhood in Levelland, Texas and much of his adulthood in Richardson, Texas before settling in Amarillo, Texas. He was a dedicated educator of children and adults in schools and Region 16 Education Service Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Owens; 4 children and their families, including 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
