J Kerry “Drake” Carson, 34, of Amarillo, TX passed away on May 16, 2022.
Memorial services will be at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2901 Martin Road, Amarillo, TX 79107, Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM.
Drake was born in Amarillo, TX on February 5, 1988, to Paige Carson. In elementary he was a lead character in the play “Sam Heart”. Drake was a Boy Scout until his early teens. He was a graduate of Borger High School class of 2006 where he was part of the band crew as well as a trumpet player in the high school band.
Drake was a driver for Baptist Community Services moving people to and from their appointments with Doctors, therapists, and even shopping. He loved all the patients he would meet and loved taking a part in
caring for them. All the patients would look forward to seeing him as he always had a joke or story to tell them.
Drake was also an avid book reader, he had boxes of books that he read until the bindings broke and the pages would fall out. He loved the Archie comics and Goosebumps books where you could change the ending according to what page you turn to. In high school, the librarians would have him read new books to evaluate if they were good or not.
Drake was an avid gamer, he loved all the gaming adventures but his love was Dungeon’s and Dragons. He would often be the Dungeon Master creating the adventures that the players would experience. He would enjoy encouraging new players to be a part of the game. There were many followers that loved the creativity of his imaginary mind where he would create and bring to reality challenges within the games he held as the Dungeon Master.
He was preceded in death by his Great Grandmother Lora Hawkins, Great Grandfather Jim Hawkins, Great Aunt Nancy Gulish, Great Aunt Fran Scaggs, Great Uncle James Hawkins and Great Cousins Duaine Kruse, Russell and Kenneth Hawkins, Meme Juanell Carson and Grand Dad Bill Carson.
Survivors include his Mother Paige Carson, Brother Zack Carson, and Sister Brooke Carson all of Amarillo, TX. Grandparents Susie and husband Bill Marthaller of Amarillo, Grandparents John and wife Shirley Lively of Wellington, TX, Aunt Tina and husband Jeremy Hines of Vidor TX, Uncle Hank and wife Robin Lively of Albuquerque, NM. He had a very large and loving extended family consisting of cousins, Great Aunts and Uncles, and Great cousins.
