Ilene L. Sheffield – December 15, 2017

Ilene L. Sheffield, 100, of Amarillo died Friday, December 15, 2017.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. Murray Gossett, associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Ilene was born July 27, 1917, in Randolph, Illinois to Lloyd and Ruth Shifflet.  She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and a lifetime PTA member.  Ilene will be remembered for the cookies she loved to bake, and she loved to sew, but best of all she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Pinkie” Sheffield.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Hoyer and husband Les, of Amarillo, Carol Black and husband David, of Grapevine, and Terri Warnecke and husband Rodney, of Midwest City, Oklahoma; a brother, Don Shifflet, of Anaheim, California; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bruce Baker, Dr. Brian Pruitt, and BSA Hospice Care of the Southwest for the excellent care provided by them.
The family suggests memorials to Amarillo Children’s Home, 3400 Bowie St, Amarillo, TX 79109.

    i was a little girl in her home …playing with Carol…She was always so kind to me and I have good memories …..I long life well lived…..

    What a wonderful woman! Always full of joy and the affirmation of life. I shared many wonderful times in her home as a friend of Judy.
