Herman Hodge Jr.

Herman Hodge Jr., 78, of Amarillo, TX passed away January 4, 2025.

Family will receive friends from 5-6:00 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount. Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Herman was born December 9, 1946 in Atlanta, TX to Herman Hodge Sr. and Ida Mae Martin. He grew up in Atlanta, TX and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Herman had worked at Cookbook Bakery, Southwest Public Service, and retired from Pantex. He officiated basketball for many years and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan! Herman loved listening to music.

He was preceded in death by his father Herman Hodge, SR., mother Ida Mae Martin, bonus mother Maggie Mae Hodge, brothers Bennell Hodge and Willie Ray Hodge and grandson Willie Drew Hodge. 

Herman is survived by sons, Royce Watson and Will Hodge and wife Elizabeth all of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Charlotte Brown and Ramona Hodge both of Amarillo, TX; sisters, Priscilla Tyous of Texarkana, AR and Darlene Taylor of Longview, TX; brothers, Horace Hodge of Prairie View, TX, Harvey Hodge of Linden, TX and Bucy Allen of Pensacola, FL; seven grandchildren, Sharonda Coulter, Royce Watson Jr, Taelor Hodge, Dezrae Sanchez, Teila Casel Roberts and husband Rodan Roberts, Eric Bowers, and Adam Lopez; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
