Herbert Bailey Frizzell, Sr., 78, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 12th, 2022, at his home in Amarillo, Texas in the loving arms of his wife of 59 years, Judy Ann Frizzell. Herbert was born October 10, 1943, in Dallas, Texas to Eugene and Juanita Frizzell. He met the love of his life, Judy Ann Birge, in Dallas Texas and they were married on March 23rd, 1963. He was the proud father to 4 children: two sons – Herbert Frizzell Jr., of Sherman, Texas and Joshua Frizzell & wife, Denice, of Puyallup, Washington; daughter, Rebecca Beingolea, of Amarillo, Texas and Tamara Graham, who went to be with the Lord in 2004.
He earned his Bachelor of the Arts degree in English from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1971 and his Master of Science degree from Southern Methodist University in 1989. He received his Certificate of Ordination in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1995. For many years, he worked in the telecommunications industry. Herbert was a member of Toastmasters. He was a devoted member of his church, Life Temple Church of Dallas, where he also served as an elder. Later in his life, he showed the same devotion to his church, Life Tabernacle of Dumas. He had a deep love of the Lord and shared his faith openly with others.
Herbert was also a diligent student of the Word of God, constantly learning and writing. He had a great love for books. His passion and life’s work culminated in his 10-volume work titled, “Behold, The Bridegroom Cometh!”: An Eschatology of the Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. He also wrote many songs and loved to worship his Lord and Savior.
Herbert is one of four siblings. These include his older brother, Bobby Frizzell & wife, Miriam, of Midlothian, Texas. His younger sister, Judy Darlene Gering, who has preceded him in her homegoing and his baby sister, Debbie Harllee & husband, Mike, of Dallas, Texas.
Herbert has 7 grandchildren – Rachel, Daniel, Amber, Daniella, Josephina, Ethan, and Hannah, whom he loved dearly. He is also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren – Alexander, Emmitt, Brighton, Claire, Jake, Finn, Lucy, David, and Alice.
Visitation with friends and family will be held on Thursday evening, September 15, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home on 500 N. Maddox Ave. from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Dumas, Texas. The celebration of Herbert’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2022, at his home church, Life Tabernacle at 921 Zauk Ave, Dumas, Texas. Burial and graveside service will immediately follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
