Hector Zamora

Hector Zamora, 58, of Sunray, died on Sunday, May 15, 2022.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox, Dumas, TX.  Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2022, at Betel AD Church, 1596 FM 119, Dumas, TX.  Burial will follow at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.

Hector was born on May 7, 1964, in Juarez, Mexico to Marcelino and Ana Zamora.  He grew up in Sunray and had worked in construction and farmed most of his life.  He loved Ford pickups and especially liked the 1979 model.  He was very outgoing and loved by all who knew him.

He married Maria Mercado on July 11, 1986.

He is survived by his wife Maria Zamora of Sunray; a daughter, Brenda Zamora of Amarillo; three sons, Diego Zamora and wife Viridiana of El Paso, Miguel Zamora of El Paso, and Hector Zamora Jr. of Sunray; his father, Marcelino Zamora of Sunray; a brother, Angel Zamora and wife Judy of Dumas; five sisters, Elvia Zamora of Stratford, Maribel Castro and husband Jesus of Lubbock, Eva Zamora of Sunray, Guadalupe Mercado and husband Eduardo of Sunray, and Nora Mendoza and husband Isaias of Sunray; and two grandchildren, Gabriel Duran Jr. and Leonardo Zamora.
