Hattie Mae Jolly, 89, of Amarillo, died Friday, February 7, 2025.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, February 10, 2025, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Hattie was born in Olton, Texas to Homer and Chloe Durham. She attended Springlake High School. She met and married A. E. Jolly, “Bubs”, on January 1, 1953, and moved to Amarillo, Texas. They had four children, Gene, Becky, Bill, and Pat. Hattie was a 4th grade teacher, for many years at Ridgecrest Elementary. Hattie was also a very classy lady who loved dancing, gardening, and being around her family. Hattie was blessed to have five generations within her very big family, who called her GiGi; AKA “Gangsta Grandma.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, baby brother, Clinton Durham, sister, Ruby Moore; grandchildren, Cody Austin Oliver and Lindsay Alison Jolly; great-granddaughter, Ava Kai Jolly; along with her son-in-law, John Bell.
Hattie is survived by her husband, A. E. Jolly, “Bubs”; sister, Lena Hacker; sister-in-law, Debbie and brother-in-law, Terry Newman; her four children, Gene Jolly and his wife Karan; Becky Bell; Bill Jolly and his wife Tracy; Pat Henson and her husband, Donny. Also, her eight grandchildren, Kaprece Jolly; Sean Bell and his wife, Keva; Nick Bell and his wife Ashley; Kayley Jolly; Billy Jolly and his wife Kailey; Kasie Massey and her husband, Jeremiah; Zach Oliver and his wife, Michelle; Carson Oliver and his wife Barbie. She was also greatly loved by many, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 – 5 pm, Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the funeral home.
