Glennella Gaillard Blue – June 10, 2017

Glennella Gaillard Blue, 87, of Dumas, died Saturday, June 10, 2017. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church.  Burial will be at the Dumas Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Glennella was born following the stock market crash on August 22, 1929 in Texhoma to Phillippe and Hazel Gaillard. She was from the Greatest Generation and lived thru the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and WWII.  She worked as an LVN and made sure Blue Plumbing ran right since 1952.  Her greatest joy was raising her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Wanda Pickering, Willa Dean Allen, and Connie Castenada; her husband, J.W. Blue; a son, Monte Blue; and a grandson, Braxton Blue.
She is survived by a son, Steve Blue and wife Patsy of Dumas; a daughter, Cathryn Creel and husband Bub of Proffitt, Tx.; a brother, Phillip Gaillard and Linda of Tucson, Az; a sister, Luann Baker of Las Vegas, Nevada; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 12, 2017.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001 or the American Cancer Society.

    I know that words are inadequate at a time like this, but I wanted you to know how very sorry my family is for your loss. May you find comfort in God’s promise at Revelation 21: 3 and 4.
