George Daniel Golightly passed away on the morning of March 18, 2012, in Amarillo, Texas due to long term heart and kidney failure.
George is survived by his daughter Susan and her husband Warren Hoye of Amarillo, Texas. He has four grandchildren, Jeremy Hoye who currently resides in Navarre Florida, Stacey Hoye of Amarillo & Noelle and Angel Uro of Puyallup Washington. He has two great-grandchildren, Cierra & Camden Hoye and four Grand Dogs Pavelow, Macy, Gunner & Chemo.
George is preceded in death by his wife Gloria of 46 years and his Daughter Nora Uro. He is survived by his only sibling, Pat Russell of Bellingham, Washington.
George served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1943-1946, and again during the Korean conflict from 1950-1952, where he was a sonar operator on both submarines and Destroyers. Upon his discharge in 1952, he worked in the electrical trade as a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers for 55 years as a construction electrician.
George and his family would like to thank all those that have had time for him and helped him throughout his 87 years of life.
