Gary Patterson

Gary Patterson, 84, of Amarillo, TX died Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Llano Cemetery with Corky Holland of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Gary was born July 31, 1940, in Lockney, TX to Melvin and Mavis (Whitfield) Patterson. He graduated from Lubbock High School.

Gary married Barbara Walling on June 1, 1961, in Odessa, TX.

He worked for Southwestern Portland Cement Co. in Bushland, TX and retired from Amarillo Gear.

Gary was a member of the Texas Panhandle Mustang Club for many years, and he loved to build ornamental iron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Beth Salyards.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Patterson, of Amarillo, TX; two sons, Todd Patterson and wife Pam, of Savannah, GA, and Cory Patterson and wife Nicole, of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Kara Patterson, of Canada; grandchildren, Brandon Patterson and wife Brianna, Gary Charles Patterson and wife Kayla, and Marissa Patterson; four great-grandchildren, Braivyn, Jaxon, Connor, and Keaton; and sister-in-law, Sue Barnes, of Abilene, TX.
