Frankie Jean Bales

Frankie Jean Bales, 80, of Amarillo, TX died Saturday, October 22, 2022.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Bales was born September 12, 1942, in Borger, TX to Meryle and Virginia (Wedge) Lewis.  After her father’s death, she was raised by R.J. Slatery.  For a time, she lived with her grandmother, Roselee Wedge.

She married her husband, Robert “Bob” Bales on December 28, 1973, in Amarillo, TX.

Frankie loved to draw and kept herself busy with word searches. She dealt with seizures all of her life. Frankie was strong and never let any challenges get her down.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Lewis; and two half-brothers, Mike and Jimmy Slatery.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Bales; three nieces, Elicia, Wendy, and Becky; one nephew, Randy; and many cousins.

Bob would like to thank the Kindred Hospice Nursing Staff, Kirkland Court Nursing Home Staff, Dr. Robert E. Gerald, MD, and the late Douglas Lewis, DO for their care and kindness to Frankie.

Viewing will be available from 8:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 27, 2022, and 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Friday, October 28, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
