Frank Edward Rardon passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20th, surrounded by his family.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 28, 2025, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Military honors will be provided by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Frank was born March 2, 1929 in Caney, Kansas to Edith and Thomas Rardon. Frank played varsity football in high school and was the star player on the team for most games, and was given the name “Fireball Frank.” He worked as an oilfield roughneck after high school, and then enlisted in the US Navy in 1949. He served five years in Korea and Japan during the Korean War, where he was known as “Moose”. After the Navy, he moved to Amarillo, Texas and worked as a licensed master plumber, and owned Frank Rardon Plumbing. During this time Frank coached Kids Inc baseball and football for many years, where he earned the nickname “Tweet”. He also worked as a long haul truck driver, and in local professional sports as a team bus driver, penalty box timekeeper, as a clubhouse attendant, and groundskeeper, where he earned the nickname “Frank Furter.” He worked hotel maintenance until he retired.

Frank raced stock cars in the 50s and 60s. Frank was a self taught scratch golfer and loved playing and teaching golf. He even had a hole in one at Ross Rogers. He tried skydiving in 1996 and made three jumps. He loved reading, crossword puzzles, and watching sports.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Rardon, and son, Bobby Guy Rardon. He leaves behind a son, James Rardon, James’ wife Rebecca Rardon, and his beloved granddaughter, Abigail, his sweetie.
