Forrest Russel (Bud) Bolin, 83, of Amarillo died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018, at First Baptist Church Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Russel was born August 16, 1935, in Portales, New Mexico to Joseph and Mary (Stephenson) Bolin. He graduated from Melrose High School, Melrose, New Mexico, class of 1953. He served in the Navy and was honorably discharged. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, Swift Packing Company, K. Barnett & Sons, Sunshine Bakery, C & T Fertilizer and retired from Clovis Municipal Schools Maintenance Department. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his shop and repairing engines and lawn mowers.
Russel married Virginia Warren on April 3, 1955, in Clovis, New Mexico, where they lived until 2013, when they relocated to Amarillo, TX.
Russel was a member of Parkland Baptist Church, Clovis, New Mexico and then First Baptist Church, Amarillo.
Russel was preceded in death by five half-sisters, Dixie Morton, Molly Reid, Lois Heaton, Ines Walcott and Laura Lea Earp; and a son-in-law, Mark Stansell.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Bolin, of Amarillo; a son, Joe (Dana) Bolin, of Amarillo; three daughters, Cynthia (Mark) Stansell, of Las Cruces, NM, Barbara (Dave) Bodner, of Wilmington, OH, and Terri (Brian) Weber, of Las Cruces, NM; two sisters, JoAnna Fisher, of Arkansas, and Mary Lyn Roux, of Michigan; grandchildren, Shannon (Brian) Anderson, Tim (Shauna) Stansell, Kerry (Chris) Lang; Jonathon Bodner, Christopher Bodner; Allison (Sam) Smeaton, Daniel Bolin, Kayla Bolin, Lindsey Bolin; Benjamin Weber, Zachary Weber; and great-grandchildren, Carson, Morgan, Jaiden Anderson; Simon, Eli, Kyla, Shiloh, Jonas Stansell; Sadie, Levi Lang; Elijah Smeaton.
