Florence Regina Kozicki Morris, 94, was called to her heavenly home on August 6, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Florence was first-generation Polish-American born in Elbert, West Virginia on April 22, 1928 to Walter and Stella Kozicki. She was the youngest of three children with two older brothers, Edju and Karl Kozicki.
Florence grew up in Moundsville, WV and graduated from Moundsville High School in 1946. She attended nurse’s training in Wheeling, West Virginia directly after highschool and later received her LPN license. It was during this time she met and married her lifelong love, Dareld Ray Morris, in 1948 to whom she was married for 60 years.
Florence was a dedicated, loving, and indefatigable daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She supportively stood beside her husband during his education and training as a pharmacist and Osteopathic physician and throughout his career, all the while lovingly caring for and educating their seven children.
Florence was an active member in the Episcopal Church wherever the family lived and served God as a member of altar guild for many years. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star in Moundsville, WV and achieved the status of Worthy Matron but was unable to serve in that capacity when the family moved. She was active in Garden Club and the Audubon Society. Later, after her children were grown, she worked with her husband in his osteopathic practice as a nurse and business manager. However, her primary passion was contributing to the love and welfare of her family as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Florence is preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Dr. Dareld R. Morris.
She is survived by her seven children, Olivia Ella Morris, D.O. of Green Valley, AZ, Jerry Walter Morris, D.O. and wife Lisa of Keller, TX, Victoria Ray Morris of Amarillo, TX, Dara Lee Morris Haddad and husband Hussein of Houston, TX, Dareld Ray Morris II, D.O. and wife Kelly of Ft. Myers, FL, Jeffrey Riley Morris, D.O. and wife Cindy of Tulsa, OK, and Daniel Kozicki Morris, D.O. and wife Cathy of Aurora, TX. Florence was also blessed with 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The love, warmth, and thoughtfulness of our precious mother and Babcia throughout our lives will be deeply missed by her entire family.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. -7:00 P.M. on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the funeral home.
