With tender hearts we share that Evelyn Wadean “Wendy” Thomas Nicholson Stone, 92, of Amarillo, TX went to be with the Lord with her loved one’s surrounding her on July 25, 2022.
Services will be at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Robert Brown officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Wendy was born in Pampa, TX on January 5, 1930, to Sarah Adella and William Hatchett Thomas.
Wendy was a member of Paramount Baptist Church, South Georgia Baptist Church, and the Red Hat Society. She attended multiple bible studies and various oversea mission trips. Wendy Stone’s core purpose in this lifetime was always showing her love by giving to others unconditionally and being the bright light of God. Displayed by her unwavering faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Craig H. Stone; sons, Rusty Nicholson, and Dave Rick Nicholson; mom, Sarah Adela Hall Thomas Cashion; sister, Pauline Lee; brothers, Harold Thomas, and Vernon Thomas; and former husband, C.L. Nicholson.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Cason and husband Bernie; son, Don Nicholson; grandchildren, Melanie, Stormy, April, Becca, Sean, Joey, Stary Mae, Rory, and Caramie; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; special friends, Patsy, Tady, Gilbert, Betty, Melba, and Ethel; many church friends; and comforting neighbors.
The family would like to personally thank Dr. Dyer, Dr. S. Trehan, Dr. Milligan, Dr. Soya, April McKee (she rocks with her loving heart), Charles and Sarah, and Becky.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Kindred Hospice – Amarillo, MD Anderson, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
