Grimslid, 28, of Dallas, formerly of Holmen, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013.Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Hillside Christian Church Chapel, West Campus, 6100 Soncy, with Pat Ford officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
He was born Jan. 4, 1985, in La Crosse, to John and Ava (Albers) Grimslid. Eldon was baptized May 19, 1985, and confirmed Nov. 1, 1998, both at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church in Holmen. He was a 2003 graduate of Holmen High School and a graduate of West Texas A&M University, in Canyon, Texas. Eldon was an exceptional all around athlete who excelled at everything he put his heart into. He was the eighth All American in the Nation for the decathlon. He taught high school English and was an incredible coach and mentor to many young children. Eldon always stood for what was right, no matter what. He will be remembered for his big smile, even bigger heart, and his willingness to help anyone in need. Eldon was an admirable son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, coach, and friend, who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his mother, Ava Grimslid of Onalaska; two sisters, Amanda (nee, Clark) Robenolt, and husband, Brian of Cumming, Ga., and Cassey Grimslid (Matt Neubauer) of Keystone, Colo.; one brother, Zack Grimslid of Amarillo, Texas; two nieces, Peyton and Savannah Ashley and one nephew, Tyler Robenolt, all of Cumming, Ga.; his maternal grandmother, Gladys Albers of Holmen; many aunts, uncles, cousins; and tons of great friends.
Eldon was preceded in death by his father, John Grimslid; maternal grandfather, Harry Albers; uncle, Joel Grimslid; aunt, Ruth Grimslid; his paternal grandparents; and his dog, Fluffer.
