So saddened to hear of Eddie’s passing. I enjoyed seeing him at church and his smile, handshake and good mornings each Sunday. He was a strong Christian man and leader at St Stephen. He will be missed! Our prayers of condolence and strength to all his family! God Bless! Isaiah 30:41

I was so honored to share my Walk to Emmaus with Eddie. He was truly a Godly man who gave true Servant Leadership, enriching all whose lives he touched in St. Stephen UMC, Wesley Workers, the Guardians, Gideon’s, the Emmaus Community, throughout our city and beyond.
May God Bless, and Heal, Melba and bring His Comfort to all the family.

    Melba,
I am so sorry to read of your joining our ranks of widowhood. I can tell you from 16 years experience, it won’t be easy but hold tightly to God’s unchanging hand. Also let your family help you through the void. Grieve-as-you must, not-as-others will tell you is right, wrong or indifferent. Travel your pathway as there is only one for each; therefore, not pathways. I have a good neighbor in the senior apartment complex where I live in Stillwater, Oklahoma who is a niece of Bonnie Batman in Dumas; remember the couple who adopted Steve, our real-live baby doll. I have such fond memories of our friendship, so sorry we haven’t kept touch since I left Amarillo. God bless you and yours in this time. Jackie

    Father,
    I-am-only human. I need-the-touch of-human-
    companionship. Sorely-I-miss this-one-I love.

I pray, O Jesus Thou wilt reveal-to-me unseen-
    presences. Help-me to-know how-close my-
    loved-one is for-I-know they cannot-be far-
    away.
    Make real-to-me contact-of spirit-to-
    spirit re-establishing lost-fellowship for-
    which my-heart-yearns. Give-to-me faith
    to shine through-my-tears.
    Plant peace-and-hope within-my-heart.
    Point-me-to joy for the-great-reunion.
    Until then, enable-me-to live as-happily-as
    possible and worthily-of-those who-are-gone.
    In the name-of-Him who-is-the Lord-of-
    life, I pray. Amen-and-amen

Eddie, words can’t express what your friendship and being a mentor in insurance meant to me. I always enjoyed our conversations on faith, family, insurance, and life. Not a week would go by where we wouldn’t call each other for advice on something. Thank you for always saying something positive or a great compliment to build me up in front of our peers. Today I went on the appointment I called you about last week, and it went very good, I know you were watching over me. Much love and fond memories of you always brother, and I promise, I won’t forget your number…

Melba, Eddie was so loved and left everyone with wonderful memories. If there is anything I can do to help you through this let me know. I loved working with you both at Emmaus walks. Sunday School will not be the same. You are in my prayers.

Melba, Roy and I are so grieved to hear about Eddie and your injuries. Eddie was one of my best friends and have many precious memories of the times we had together. He was a great example of a godly man and always helping others I look forward to the time we can visit about the days of “rampant”. We are praying for your healing of your body and soul and peace for your family. We love you

When I think of the church where I grew up, and I think of all of the beautiful people who I have had the great blessing to know for the majority of my life, Melba and Eddie are near the top of the list. I have been blessed to know you both, and I am humbled to send all of my love and my thoughts and prayers to you and your family, Melba. I will look forward to joining Eddie with our Lord someday!
