Eddie Warren Castleberry, 74, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on May 30, 2024.
Services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Eddie was born in Dalhart, TX, on April 8, 1950, to Ed and Marilyn Castleberry.
Eddie graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Applied Sciences and a Master of Science in Engineering Technology from West Texas State University in 1990.
The Castleberry Ranch was an original part of the historic XIT Ranch. Eddie moved home to Dalhart, TX, in 1974 to help his father expand and develop the farm.
Eddie was a devoted son, brother, father, and grandfather. He had his pilot’s license and was a craftsman who loved working with his hands and architectural design. Eddie worked in Los Alamos, New Mexico, as well as Amarillo, TX, designing security systems for Pantex and the Los Alamos labs.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Marilyn Castleberry; his late wife, Bonnie Kee Castleberry; and his nephew, Jimmy Don Parker.
Eddie is survived by his partner, Herman Ramos Junior of Amarillo, TX; two sisters, Becky Castleberry of Amarillo, TX, and Diana Lathem of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two children, Colten Castleberry and his fiancée, Sarah O’Donnell, of Amarillo, TX, and Channing Stewart and her husband, Josiah Stewart, of Lubbock, TX; three grandchildren, Jaxson, Bennett, and Charlee; numerous relatives; and wonderful friends.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation, 500 S Taylor St #1060, Amarillo, TX 79101.
