Earl Lynn “Mike” Hyatt

Earl Lynn “Mike” Hyatt, 76, of Amarillo, TX passed away on November 20, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 28, 2022, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo. A visitation will be held from 2 PM – 4 PM on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home 2800 Paramount Blvd. Amarillo, Texas.

Mike was born in Tulia, TX on July 6, 1946, to Jewel (Elam) Hyatt and Audrey Hyatt. His family attended First Baptist Church of Tulia and where he was baptized. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1965. Before attending school to be an Audiologist, he was also a radio broadcaster under the name

Michael Shannon.

Mike married Suzanne Oles on March 25, 1972, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Amarillo, Texas. They were married for 47 years, prior to her death in 2019.

Mike owned and operated Hyatt Hearing Aid Arts. After 30+ years of ownership, he ultimately retired from the business in 2010. He was a member of Pioneer Gun Collectors, NRA, and a devoted member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, as well as a current member of Amarillo Rifle and Pistol Club. He was also a member of the Texas State Rifle Association and the Rotary Club of Amarillo.

Mike was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed hunting, the mountains of New Mexico at the family cabin, guns, shooting, the church, and his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Audrey Hyatt; mother, Jewel Hyatt; brother, Claud Hyatt; and wife, Suzanne Hyatt.

Survivors include his daughter, Lynna Broyles, and husband Lance of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; granddaughters, Emma Jewel Broyles and Madden Mae Broyles; and several generations of cousins.
