Earl Dan Cassetty, 68, of Bushland, TX died Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Arden Road Baptist Church, 6701 Arden Rd., with senior pastor Aaron Denson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Dan was born September 25, 1954, in Tulia, TX to Elden and Darlene Cassetty.
After working for ASARCO for 21 years, Dan retired from Bell Helicopter after a 15-year career there. He was a licensed mechanic and worked on air frames at power plants where he inspected for quality. Dan was instrumental in the Osprey program in Amarillo, TX.
Dan enjoyed flying small airplanes and held an instrument rated pilot’s license. He was a certified SCUBA diver, enjoyed fishing, and watching old western shows and movies. Dan was witty and had a great sense of humor.
His favorite scripture was Ephesians, 8-9. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elden and Darlene Cassetty; and son, Jacob Dan Cassetty.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Conn Cassetty, of Bushland, TX; a son, Matthew Lee Cassetty, of Amarillo, TX; a brother, Randy Cassetty and wife Teresa, of Vega, TX; and two sisters, Brenda Linn, and Cindy Burnett, both of Vega, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Jacob Cassetty Memorial Music Scholarship Fund in care of Bushland ISD, PO Box 60, Bushland, TX 79012.
