Dr. Bejan Joseph “Bj” Daneshfar

It is with great sadness that we grieve the loss of Dr. Bejan Joseph “BJ” Daneshfar on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, our beloved BJ went home to meet his Elohim.

BJ was born on July 14, 1955, in Tehran, Iran to Mansur Daneshfar and Fatemeh Mino Afghanipour. The family immigrated to the United States during the Shah’s Regime in 1969. They left the bustling metropolis of Iran and settled in the Missouri farmland. BJ grew up a Missouri farm boy, graduating from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. He earned degrees in Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Physics Sciences, graduating with honors. His studies also included Electronics, Biophysics, Transistor Transistor Logics (TTL) and auto mechanics. He attended the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri, graduating with honors.

BJ continued residency training in Anesthesiology at the University of Missouri Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri. He entered the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps in 1986. BJ proudly served and directed departments at the pain clinic at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He also served as a Medical Director of the prestigious Dannemiller Pain Clinic.

In 1990, BJ embarked on opening the first pain management clinic at Northwest Texas Healthcare Systems in Amarillo, Texas. He served as Director of the Department of Anesthesia at Northwest Texas Healthcare Systems until 1996. BJ also actively served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Texas Anesthesia Group PA, Texas Anesthesiology Group PA, Steam Boat Medical Developments, and the New Horizons Physician Practice Management Inc. in Amarillo, Texas. In 1997, BJ founded Acute & Chronic Pain & Spine Center which welcomed it’s sister company, Texas Pain and Spine Institute. BJ established one of the first Ambulatory Surgical Centers for Pain in 2001. He took great pride in overseeing both the clinic and the Ambulatory Surgery Center. In 2021, BJ founded the Daneshfar Aesthetics Center. BJ was a dedicated and compassionate healthcare provider. A proud healer with unwavering commitment and servitude to his patients and team. He always nurtured an environment where all patients were treated as family and no double standards of care could exist.

BJ was admired and respected among providers throughout the Panhandle and West Texas Region for his clinical expertise. He was beloved by his patients—known for his diligence to provide profound care. When he counseled his patients, he did so with great compassion. BJ was an exuberant and bright provider to work with, often calling his staff members “Sister,” he admired his staff and was proud to work alongside a team of devoted providers.

BJ’s passions could be known by where he spent his time—reading the Word, immersed with family, ranching, and practicing medicine. BJ was an instrument of the Almighty. Devout and fearless in the glory of his Elohim, BJ sought to encourage and inspire others hope and obedience in the Almighty. He was Kingdom-minded. BJ sought prayer and guidance in all things—he could be found praying for healing over each patient that came into his practice. His faith was deeply woven into the way he observed his responsibility as a healthcare provider.

BJ’s faith grew into a passion over the years, he began by attending church and eventually held his own congregation out of his home. He proudly read the Word and studied with his closest friends and colleagues. It can be said that BJ’s calling was observing the Holy Days, Sabbath and honoring the Commandments, Statutes, and Judgements. He took every opportunity to praise the mighty Elohim he called Father. His eternal call was a divine appointment for what lies ahead for each of us, the reunion of our spirit with the Almighty.

Dr. Daneshfar is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Judi, his loving daughter, Shayda Daneshfar Craddick and husband, Kirk Craddick; step-daughters, Paige Candace Larsen and Brecken Larsen; mother, Mino Daneshfar; sister, Zhitana Daneshfar; brothers, Dr. Bahman Daneshfar, Dr. Bahraum Daneshfar; grandchildren, Sophia Esme Daneshfar, Ari Cyrus Daneshfar, Cohen Gage Craddick, and Saylor Larsen. He was preceded in death by his father, Mansur Daneshfar; and his son, Dr. Shahriar Cyrus “Cy” Daneshfar.
