Dory M. Lacy, 65, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. Delbert Serratt officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Dory was born March 29, 1948, in Amarillo, to William and Gladys Lacy. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1966 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from West Texas State. Dory married Tamara Graham on Oct. 17, 1969, in Amarillo.
He was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. He served Llano Cemetery and proudly brought the Vietnam Memorial, The Moving Wall, to Amarillo.
Dory was a loving husband for 44 years. He was also a wonderful father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Earl Koontz.
Survivors include his wife Tamara Lacy, of Amarillo; two sons, Michael Scott Lacy and wife Alison of Houston and Timothy William Lacy and wife Julie of Austin; four sisters, Helen Jones and husband Floyd, Joyce Koontz, Marie Winters and husband, Richard and Lillian Carnahan and husband Jay; a brother, James Lacy; and four grandchildren, Caitlin, Briana, Emma and Sean.
The family suggests memorials be to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
