Dorthy “Lavelle” Bronniman, 76, of Friona, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 3, 2017.    Bronniman Obit Pic
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Vega Church of Christ with Carroll Thomason, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Lavelle was born on November 23, 1940 in Lamesa, Texas to Effie and L. T. Prather. She married her beloved Oscar Bronniman on August 24, 1963 in Lamesa, Texas. They had three children.  She was an elementary school teacher.  She taught 3 years at Fluvanna; 3 years at Walcott; and 10 years at Friona.  Lavelle enjoyed singing church songs and reading.  She was a member of the 6th Street Church of Christ in Friona.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar Bronniman, of the home; two sons, Bart Bronniman and wife Sharla of Clovis, NM and Bret Bronniman and wife Krista of Early; a daughter, Bena Glasscock and husband Jerry Don of Adrian; three brothers, Jack Prather and wife Leslie of Lubbock; Ewell Prather and wife Marilyn of Abilene; and Orville Prather and wife Madie of Temple; a sister, Estelle Strother and husband Jim of Allen; ten grandchildren, Tiffany, Josh, Caitlin, Jacob, Blake, Jarrett, Jayden, Beau, Briley and Madison; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Taylor Bronniman and a sister, Verla Strickland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Prairie Acres in Friona, the Alzheimer’s Association, Camp Blue Haven or a charity of choice.
