Dorothy Elenor Luera, 79, of Amarillo, TX passed away unexpectedly on March 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Services will be at 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Dorothy was born on February 20, 1946 to Valentino Garcia and Mary Salas of Clayton, New Mexico. She grew up in Clayton, New Mexico and Amarillo, Texas.

Dorothy retired from SPS/ Excel Energy after many years. During her retirement she traveled to see family members in Florida and South Texas. Her visits could consist of a couple of weeks up to years at times. She loved the sunshine and if there was a beach nearby, she be found with her toes in the sand near the water. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Valentino Garcia and Mary Salas, siblings Connie Lanfor, Patrick Garcia, Floyd Lanfor, and daughter-in-law Stacy Luera.

She is survived by her fur baby LC; three children, Tina Esparza and husband Eddie, Michael Luera and wife Pat of Richmond, and Babette Luera. Eleven grandchildren, Jessica Nunez and husband Dink of Lakeland, Florida, Marie Hernandez and husband Hugo, Nick Reno and wife Raven of Eagle Lake, Florida, Alex Miser and husband Kenton of Iowa Park, Texas, Cameron Blackburn and wife Co of Killeen, Texas, Brett Blackburn and wife Haley of Waco, Texas, Hawk and Tim of Nuburg, WI, Jordan and wife Michelle, Alic and wife Whitney, Tabitha and husband Taylor of Needville, Texas, and Kevin and wife Brooke of Richmond, Texas. She also had twenty-six great-grandchildren, Jayden, Paisley, Namiah, Brady, Kenzi, Caden, Keslyn, Autumn, Xzavier, Athena, Emma Pearl, Lexi, Khenlei, Conner, Olivia Mae, Easton, Phoenix, Jack, Malachi, Ezekiel, Jazzy, Amelia, Beaux, Lucas, Ace, and Ellie. Three great-great-grandchildren, Mathias, Auburn, and Raeya. Her brothers John Garcia, Victor Garcia; and sister Patricia Armijo. Along with several sons, daughters, and grandchildren who adopted her.
