Dorothy was a mentor, a teacher, a friend that I adored. She referred to a group of us as her kids even after we were all grown and married. A true Christian woman that will be missed by so many.

Dorothy was my Sunday School teacher for several years during my elementary and jr. High years. She kept moving up as her son, Greg, moved up which gave me that tremendous blessing of having her for a teacher more than once. She would always admonish us girls to stay pure and live like the Lord wanted us to live. I can hear her saying in her genteel southern accent, “Girls, girls….” encouraging us to live our lives for the Lord. She was my favorite teacher. As she got older, she still remembered me. We went out to eat frequently and I enjoyed spending time with her until she could no longer live by herself. She was truly a beacon of light to many young girls.
