Donna was born in McLean, TX on January 9, 1935, to Evelyn (Cline) and Earl Stubblefield. She was the oldest of 4 children.
Born and raised in McLean, TX, Donna went on to West Texas State where she met Don Light, her husband of 54 years.
From 1954 -1968, she resided in Ralls, Stinnett, and Friona while Don was a high school football coach. She lived in Amarillo and Lake Tanglewood for the remainder of her life.
Donna was the mother of 2 daughters, Devonn Thomas and Diane Longcor.
Donna loved camping and trout fishing in Colorado on the Conejos River with her family and also enjoyed traveling with family and friends. The thing she loved the most was spoiling her 4 grandchildren.
Special memories were made taking multiple trips to Disney World, a trip to Hawaii, and a Caribbean Cruise with all her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed numerous golf trips with wonderful friends George and Betty Carroll, and Bill and June Day.
She served on the board of Lake Tanglewood Community Church, the Women’s Golf Association of Lake Tanglewood, and was pianist for the Lake Tanglewood children’s choir.
Donna delighted in planning activities with a theme, especially dinner and birthday parties. She took great pride in her Christmas decorating and especially loved her Christmas trees. She often wore crazy and unique hats and always had a tissue to spare.
Donna will be remembered as a loving Mama and Grandma. She also had a special place in her heart for her sons-in-law, Danny and Craig. Donna referred to them as “her boys” and always treated them with a mother’s love.
