Donella Zeman, 74, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Craig Senior Living Chapel, 5500 W. 9th Ave in Amarillo with Chaplain Patrick Six officiating. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
She was born in 1950 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Don and Marcy Zeman. She lived with her family in Milwaukee, Wichita, San Antonio, and Hereford before moving to Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1969.
Donella worked various jobs at Levi’s, Luby’s Cafeteria, the BSA hospital cafeteria, and United Market Street. She also spent many fun years bowling on different leagues.
Everyone who encountered Donella knows how sweet her spirit was, and how big of a heart she had. Whether it was carrying a tray for a customer at Luby’s, pet-sitting for her brother’s dog, or doing laundry for her neighbors at the Craig, Donella took joy in jobs that let her serve others. She loved visiting with her friends, running errands for her neighbors, playing bingo on Saturday afternoons, and hitting the slots at nearby casinos.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Rod and Kim Zeman, of Amarillo, her nephew Zach Zeman, of Austin, Texas, cousins Becky Mitchell of Chaska, Minnesota, and Melinda Sas, of Appleton, Wisconsin, and her best friend Rebecca Smith, of Amarillo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christian Relief Fund (PO Box 19670, Amarillo, TX 79114) or to a favorite charity. Better yet, give someone a helping hand in honor of Donella’s memory.
