Donald Palmer

Donald G. Palmer of Amarillo passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, after a brief illness.

Visitation with the family will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m., in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Don was born in Childress, Texas on December 6, 1947.  He graduated from Childress High School and went on to attend Texas Tech University and Abilene Christian College.

Don was a teacher and guidance counselor for the Amarillo School District for over 25 years and after his retirement worked for Amarillo College.  He was a longtime member of the Comanche Trail Church of Christ and a faithful Christian man. He loved his church family very much and loved the Lord with all his heart and is now at peace in Heaven.

Don never met a stranger and was kind and thoughtful to everyone he met.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, father, and one brother.

He is survived by his loving sister, Sharon Jahsman, of Austin, TX; one aunt; many cousins, and wonderful friends.
