Donald Autry Johnson, 91, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Visitation will be held from 6-7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, located at 2800 Paramount Blvd. The memorial service is at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Hillside Christian Church, located at 6100 S Soncy Rd.

Donald was born on March 2, 1933, in Grier, NM, to Manney and Clair Johnson. He graduated from Hamlin High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University. He married Nell Bell on March 1, 1980, in Lubbock, TX.

Donald had a passion for the cotton industry and retired from Plains Cotton Growers as executive vice-president after 37 years of service. He was a dedicated member of Hillside Christian Church.

Donald is survived by his wife, Nell Johnson, of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Susie Wilkerson of Lubbock, TX, Leesa Grills and husband Jeff of Austin, TX, and Renay Parsons and husband Matt of Ennis, TX; two brothers, Marvin Johnson of Amarillo, TX, and Rev. Dennis Johnson and wife Jamielene of Seattle, WA; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
