Diane Austin

Diane Austin, 81, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on May 13, 2023.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 18, 2023, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Diane was born in Amarillo, Texas on February 21, 1942, to J.C. and Ann Wesberry. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1960.

Diane married Fred Austin at First Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas on September 9, 1960. They had two children, Jodi and Wes.

Diane enjoyed spending her time volunteering for BSA Hospice. She volunteered there from 1994-2002, clocking over 15,000 hours of volunteer hours. She also served on the board of Olivia’s Angels.

Diane’s passion was for her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and they always came first. She was known for spoiling her loved ones with baked goodies.

In 1996, Fred and Diane purchased a ranch and named it Austin Acres. Diane could usually be found with the horses and the cats while she was at the ranch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wes Austin (1998); and sisters, Yvonne Woods, and Linda Reed.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Austin; daughter, Jodi Meyer and husband John; grandchildren, Mitchell Meyer and wife Sharri, Colby Meyer and wife Kaitlyn, Tyler Austin, Luke Austin and wife Lauren, and Katie Austin; and great-grandchildren, Maddie Meyer, Ben Meyer, Cooper Meyer, Livie Austin, and Berrie Austin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Diane’s honor to your favorite charity.
